TIGHT, IN GOOD HUMOUR & on form - this band get better & better !
The set list: Fireball, Maybe I'm A Leo, Ted The Mechanic, Pictures
Of Home, Woman From Tokyo, Cascades, Black Night, No One
Came, Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, Mary Long, Rosa's
Cantina, Smoke On The Water, Organ Improvisation, When
A Blind Man Cries, Purpendicular Waltz, Somebody Stole My
Guitar, Speedking - Perfect Strangers, Hey Cisco, Highway Star.
Highlight was "When A Blind Man Cries" - sublime guitar & IG
giving it his all. Lowpoint "Mary Long" - never a strong song &
suffers in comparison with the new material.
At times Steve Morse & Jon Lord reminded me of Van Leer &
Akkerman from Focus.
Excellent duelling between guitar, vocals & keyboards some
spontaneous. At times Paicey appeared to tire of IG's lengthy
introductions "This is another true story......" all in good
humour - lots of smiles.
Superb light show and the sweetest sound mix I have heard for
along time.
What a show, what a band - come to Cambridge again soon please..!
