Joe Satriani...
was born in 1956. He grew up in Westbury, Louisiana. He began as a drummer but turned later to the guitar. Thank God! He studied music at the Carl Place High School during the mid-1970s. He also began teaching the guitar during the same period - Steve Vai being among his early students. |

The Squares | |
People involved Joe Satriani (gtr); plus two other blokes. A power-pop trio initiated by Satriani. They toured clubs throughout the States but eventually folded due to lack of proper success. |

People involved Joe Satriani (gtr); plus some others. Satriani recorded a demo album during late 1983 while still in the Squares. It wasn't released until 1993, together with lots of live tracks and studio outtakes from later dates.
