DP Aug. 23rd, 1998
I just saw Deep Purple at Hinckley Grand Casino, Hinckley MN, Aug 23rd. DP was just unbelievable. They sounded superb in every way. They rocked nearly as hard and as well as they did 25 years ago. They had a terrific sound. I wished for more drums (in the mix) though.
ELP was so-so for the first half of their set, then they just completley tore up the stage. Carl Palmer's drum solo was the most amazing display of raw drum talent and physical prowess imaginable. I am a drummer and have seen dozens of the best, and tonight was beyond words.
Dream Theater was as always technically proficient and pleasing. Even if you do not like like their music, check out the musicianship.
Overall, tonight was one of the most amazing shows I have ever see. DO NOT MISS THIS IF IT COMES TO YOUR TOWN!!!!
