HOB Los Angeles 1/29/30
I hadn't seen Deep Purple in 25 years! I was really looking forward to going,especially because I think so much of Steve Morse. I was waiting for them to arrive upstairs when Steve Morse came in, walked by me and smiled hello. I wanted to meet Ian Gillan. I saw him walk in wearing a white tank top. I asked him if I can have my picture taken with him and he was very nice about it. I had one of the crew take the picture. Ian was in a rush to change clothes. He was the last to arrive that night. I was stoked!!
I went downstairs after this and waited for them to come on. The place was just packed. They started with Hush of course and everyone went wild. Fireball was just great. I loved all the stuff from Purpendicular, especially Sometimes I feel like screaming. We got to hear Rosa's Cantina,as well. The new song, 7th Heaven was great also. Steve M. was just great, he seemed to be having a blast. Everyone was playing superb.
The end of the show was definitely the best part with Speed King, Highway Star, SOTW, and Perfect Stranger. It was a great night!!
