This was an open air concert.
For the first time in my life, I finally came to meet Deep Purple. Not playing, but signing autographs. Gillan wrote his autograph in his self biography and on some covers. Glover and Paice wrote on covers. It was strange after being fans and collectors since 1972.
Well the concerts itself was very relaxed. Starting with Thin Lizzy's "The boys are back in town", it was very refreshing. The band played as good as ever. After seeing them for the second time with Steve Morse, I must say this: WHAT A GUITARIST. He is absolutely one of the greatest in the world. He brought new refreshing life to the band. No mumbling and growling but a man who enjoy playing. Also his little play medley where he played Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and more - it was pure fun.
For the rest of the band and the show, what can you say - it was written in large "DEEP PURPLE LIVE ARE ALWAYS A GREAT EVENT".
They can play it all and they do it.
