Great show

Amazing, after thirty years they still seem to think it's great fun to play. Steve Morse is much more fun to watch than the grumpy Blackmore.

Don Airey was very well received. He played some solos, among them some classical pieces (intro to "Perfect Strangers") and we thought he was the coolest, and so did the audience. He's a perfect stand-in for Mr Lord. The sound he produced (Hammond & Leslie) is a trademark for Purple's music and we weren't disappointed. Surely we missed Jon Lord (old heroes are just that - old heroes) but the music didn't suffer. The guitar versus keyboard duell was really something.

As we are nearly the same age as the band members our memories are not what it used to be but here comes the set list (not necessarily played in that order):

Woman From Tokyo
Ted The Mechanic
Lazy
No One Came
When A Blind Man Cries
Smoke On The Water
Highway Star
Hush
Speed King
Perfect Stranger
High School Hop
Well Stressed Guitar
Guitar Parade (Here Comes The Sun, Day Tripper, Laila, La Grange, Stairway To Heaven)

Carsten Ingemansson & Torbjörn Olsson
