Deep Purple in Sydney - Superb!
Deep Purple played better than I'd seen on the "Total Abandon" DVD - in fact, better than I ever thought they could.
Wish I'd taken along some sort of recorder - the song list was quite different. Unexpected songs: "Mary Long" and "Fools".
Morse's thing with the band included "Back In Black" (AC/DC) and the entire "Stairway To Heaven" solo section.
The whole band was great. Ian strutted around the stage barefoot, singing well and having a great time.
The scalpers were having a bad night. Audience capacity (I heard) was 6,400 out of 10,000 seats. For people in other cities - if you haven't got a ticket yet, just go along and check the prices.
As Gillan said - "Superb!"
