Tour reviews- Santos-Brazil- March 7th 1997

Well, they were here... One of the greatest rock bands ever was just some miles from home. And I went after them to check if all I had heard during all my life was true, as I had never seen them live.

The crowd was going crazy with the time that ran much to slow that night. The show was set to begin midnight and at the right hour they came: Hush. Everybody went mad at the same time, nobody was believing... Deep Purple is here. They choose many songs from Purpendicular and some of the HM classics for us and as Gillan kept saying to us,

It was superb the way they played. Jon Lord and Steve Morse with their little music jokes and after Steve and Gillan on a wonderful dispute on the guitar sounds (Gillan using his vocal chords). My favorite song was Sometimes I feel like screaming that was the time all of them were able to show how good they are and how their sound is still something original that goes deep into our souls...

Long live to DEEP PURPLE.
