Back to... Paice & York reviews |
Polish in BerlinMe and my friends from Polish Deep Purple Fan-Club decided to go to Berlin to see Ian Paice and his "band". We came out to Berlin in the afternoon and started looking for the venue called "Luftschloss". No one could help us! It turns out that "Luftschloss' is at the main street in Berlin (Unter Den Linden) :-) The show started at 9pm. First "I'm A Man" then "Sunshine Of Your Love" "Gimme Some Lovin'", of course "Smoke On The Water" and "Black Night" - great friendly atmosphere. Ian talk to us about Deep Purple's new record, about Tommy Bolin and George Harrison. Pete York spoke in a great mixture of German and English. (He sounds like Salvadore from "Name Of Rose" does anybody remember this book or film?). After the concert Ian and Pete came out front to talk to us for a long time, but we had to go home. I must say one disagreeable (bad) thing. Sorry, but Miller Anderson can't sing at all. His "Smoke", and "Black Night" sound horrible. He was good singing "Pictured Within" but no nothing else...
