Deep Purple - The Beacon shows (11/26-27)
Purple rocked "The Big Apple' with two sold out nights in the Beacon
Theatre proving that they are still one of the best live acts in the
world.
The band were exceptionally tight and the crowd showed their
appreciation with roaring cheers. Ted, Pictures of Home, No One Came,
Rosa's, and Speed King were extremely hot version's, and Jon Lord's
rendition of Sinatra's "New York, New York" warmed the NY crowd as well.
Some of my personal highlights were hanging with the band, and meeting
former Rainbow member's Chuck Burgi, Bobby Rondenelli, and Joe Lynn
Turner. Yes, Joe Lynn Turner! Actually Joe was having some problems
getting backstage and asked me for some assistance. He turned out to be
a really cool guy.
My next show is York, PA on 12/7/96. I'm counting the days.
