Purple take Toronto by storm
First off, this was absolutely the best gig of the current tour
I've seen so far. The support, a local guy, was decent for a change
and when the band came on at 2245 the big surprise: Hush. Then the
setlist as usual: Fireball, Ted, PoH, Black Night, Cascades (Steve
Solo), SIFLS, WFT, Aviator, Rosa, No One came, SotW (Jon Solo),
WaBMC, Speed King (IanP solo). Encores were Perfect Strangers,
Cisco, HS.
There were a few very minor glitches but otherwise everyone was on
form, the band working very tightly, the Warehouse was more than sold
out and I got to meet a whole bunch of people (Glen, John, Carl,
Nick, Lucio, Jim) and most of them in turn got to meet the band
afterwards. Even getting a drumskin signed in Jim "a rudiment for
every day of the year" Corrigan's case.
The wierdest thing was that a couple of people recognised me from
my pic on the WWW. I have a dozen or so pictures that'll be up on
the WWW as soon as I get back to London.
Next stop (for me anyway!): Hartford.
