Chicago show
Yes, my favorite band still rocks the world!
The Chicago crowd was going crazy after they played the main part of the program, ending with the unbelievable "Speed King" energy explosion.
When they came back to the stage to perform the last three *bonus* songs, everybody was standing and singing along with them.
"And, finally, HIGHWAY STAR",- announces Gillan at the end. and the Horizon theatre drowns in the roar.
Songs like "Woman from Tokyo", "Smoke on the water" and "Black night" drove everybody crazy. Their new works were taken less enthusiastically, probably because most of the audience wasn't acquianted with "Purpendicular", however, some of them, like "Sometimes I feel like drinking (oops. screaming)" and "The Aviator" lit the fire.
The sound was amazing, Gillan's voice seemed to get better and better from one song to another. Lord's solo reminded me of the early DP'68 works. As to Morse, well, I don't think they could have made a better choice. My congratulations to all the fans and to the band itself.
