Wow, quite a gig. Too bad it was so damn short, about 110 minutes. But it must be said: A GREAT SHOW !! Everything was o.k. the lights, the sound and of course the band. Everybody played fantastic, but the man of the evening to me definately was Jon. He was superb, he also did a great solo. Thank god Paicey did a (far to short) solo. Unfortunatelly they left out Hey Cisco, but they enclosed Rosa's, so that should be worth it. Big surprise to me was The Aviator, a wonderful song, which really cut the mustard. The concert was really nice balanced, heavyer stuff composed with slower songs. Highlights to me were: Sometimes I feel like screaming, Rosa's, the Aviator, No one came, Speed king, Perfect stangers and Highway star.
I brought two friends, a Genisis fan and a Type O Negative fan. Arjen (the Genisis fan) Already came with me to the Ahoy' gig and he had a great time. He seemed to like Ted the Mechanic and Sometimes I feel like screaming mutch. Johan (the Type O Negative fan) didn't know mutch Purple, he knew Smoke and Woman from Tokyo. He also knew Perfect Strangers, but then the cover version of Dream Theater. His favourite was the aviator, he also likes The Levellers. According to him Purple do to mutch solo's (can you believe that ?!) We also met a Rush fan in the Ysselhal, he didn't know mutch Purple either, but he also he a great time, we agreed on going to the next Rush tour.
'Cause of the short gig we could make the last train home so we could go to bed pretty early. I sure hope they'll come to Holland again soon.
