Jon Lord returns to RAH

The show started at about 7.50 pm and ended at 10 pm, an hour later than scheduled. Roger Waters and his band performed "Wish You Were Here", "Flickering Flame" and "Comfortably Numb". For their performance a drum kit, a Hammond organ, another keyboard and several speakers were installed on stage. Unfortunately all this bulky stuff was left there when Jon Lord entered the stage escorting John Mortimer to his microphone.

As the grand piano was at the far right of the stage, Jon was hardly visible for a quite a lot of people. His accompaniment to John Mortimer's literature reading consisted of just a few very gentle tunes he played from time to time (not throughout Mortimer's performance). "Wait A While" followed the reading and was by far the most quiet performance of the evening, just beautiful.

"Pomp and Cicumstance" featured the audience screaming their hearts out and was repeated as an encore. The official programme presents all the performing artists on several pages with the exception of Jon Lord. Maybe he was billed on such short notice that he couldn't be featured in the programme.
