Present in York When I first heard that Deep Purple were performing in the Barbican, which is close to where I live, I straight away managed to get tickets to the show. My parents found out, and as my 17th birthday was on the 12th September, gave tickets for me and a friend to go as my present. I could not have asked for a better birthday present. The band were on top form, and it was great to hear classic songs, such as Smoke On The Water and Highway Star. The atmosphere was incredible, and I would love to see them again. The whole band are extremely talented, and it was excellent hearing how they came together. I would recommend anyone to go and see them, as both Ians, Roger, Jon, Steve and Don were truly brilliant, and they put a lot of bands today to shame. Thank you very much for a great birthday present!
