Again and again I smile

I first saw Deep Purple in 1993 at the Brixton Academy. To say I was blown over is an understatement!

Almost 10 years on, last night was as good as that first time. The energy, the raw power coming from the stage, the fun, the atmosphere - and of course the great rock! The greatest disappointment was that it had to end, leaving me wanting more...

Being born after the band, I wish I could express how deeply grateful I am for being so lucky to see them twice - twice being moved beyond words and left buzzing and tingling for weeks afterwards, as I'm sure will be the case on this occasion as it was in '93. But since I can't I would just like to say thank you for yet another outstanding performance.

Here's to seeing Purple again 10 years from now, and then again when I'll have to get to the venue on my zimmerframe ;-)
