Thank you, Jon There were tears in my eyes throughout Perfect Strangers. It really is like losing a member of the family. Not surprising, I suppose, since I spent my teenage years in the early-to-mid-70s playing Purple constantly - and I've always had broad enough tastes to appreciate and love the guys' solo work as well. Walking back to the hotel last night I found myself repeatedly humming the second movement of the Concerto (thanks, Jon, for throwing that one into the mix last night!). Like David Meadows I don't quite know what to say - except "Thanks, Jon" for keeping me sane throughout the years, through teenage angst, 30-something years of business pressures and other stresses, through a couple of patches of bad health, etc, etc. I hope we'll meet again one day. May you have many years of peaceful and happy semi-retirement - God knows you've earned it (and if you should feel like knocking out the odd solo album or two...).
