Not pooh'd out The show was pretty good overall. It took me a while to get used to Don Airey and his warbling keyboards. Fireball sounded a bit rough, but Woman From Tokyo was better. Mary Long didn't work for me, something didnt sound right about it, not sure what. Ted was excellent, really good version. Lazy was another strange one, again not sure why, though Gillan was in fine form, singing about Pooh. Well Dressed Guitar I really enjoyed, love the way the riff powered along driven by Roger and Paice. Blind Man was kind of spoiled by Morse playing too many notes, but it was still enjoyable - fine singing. The keyboard solo had a short snippet of the Concerto first movement, then the customary Scottish/Glasgow tunes and Star Wars. Jon popped up and suddenly everythnig sounded much better keyboard wise.Perfect Strangers was pretty good, though the guitar was again a bit intrusive. Speed King was excellent, Jon and Steve really traded off well with each other. Roger's solo spot was well done, and Paicey despite his kit falling apart and frantic roadie activity was superb. The rock and roll medley was quite amusing to watch. Love Hurts with Dan McCafferty was a big suprise and Smoke was delivered with great passion by the band. Hush was a bit patchy, saved by Lord's solo. Black Night was OK, and Highway Star was again excellent. Overall it became an excellent show, especially when Jon arrived, and I certainly enjoyed the whole thing.
