Earthquaking Purple I caught the show at the Aviation Club in Dubai last night - and I'm so glad I did! The band were incredible - so tight yet so relaxed and looking as if they were enjoying every minute of it. So good to hear them in such good form. The whole band were outstanding, but some individual moments are worth mentioning - Steve Morse showed his versatility with an excellent medley of so many good rock anthems - was he born with that guitar in his hand?! Ian's voice was in fine form, Roger's bass playing was, as always, impeccable and inspiring and as for the synchronised head-banging by him and Steve - great moves guys! Despite the less-than-capacity crowd, the band made it a memorable night for all of us lucky, (and sensible), enough to be there. I relayed Space Truckin' and Smoke On The Water live via my mobile phone to my brother in the UK - around the same time that the earthquake occurred there - hope it wasn't my fault - I can just imagine the headlines - "Purple Rock UK via Mobile phone - tremors felt as far as Cardiff!" Anyway, thanks to the band for thinking of us quality-music-starved expats in Dubai - and please hurry back! I'll be there. All the best,
