Fantastic It's the third time that yours truly watched Deep Purple live here in the capital of Greece, but it was the first time I enjoyed a gig so much! I don't know why exactly last night was so pretty, I know one thing: Deep Purple is here for good and so were we, the guys and girls gathered at the Lycabettus Hill Theater, at the highest place inside Athens (after Acropolis) to lose control under Fireball, last night's first track. The songs of a Purple gig are more or less known to all of you, what is not known is that the feeling is completely different, the touch of music and Ian's voice in our ears - it's like the first time we heard Smoke On The Water or Space Truckin' - fantastic! Ian said, Yiiiep, you're fantastic - but only because the band helped us be so! The solo part of the gig was OK too, but (to play the devil's advocate) why not another song instead? And you know the main question: I wish they'd play one or two songs from the Coverdale era. Why not Burn or even Might Just Take Your Life? God, that would have been heaven (and hell for Ian himself?). Anyway, Purple wishes from the city that will host the 2004 Olympics and from ... yours truly who is writing these words to the sounds of Come Hell Or High Water.
