Event of the year Well, that's it... As Ian pretty much said, the two concerts in Athens were the last of a long tour. The last, but maybe hopefully not the least ones. And here they were, the remaining of the ancient Greek gods! Present, unwavering, joyful, with plenty of strength and improvisation (well, after some years improvisation may be part of the organisation, isnt'it?). And they were loud (not as loud as they could have been, but still loud enough for us to be happy in the end). Too many words would not be enough to describe what someone called this year's music event in Greece. But, why the hell is marketing so poor in this bloody country? Why are they not able to properly organise such an event? When you get tens of thousands attending those concerts in Central Europe - I do not even mention the States - could you please explain me why you get a mere 7000 people for two concerts? Poor Greece, the Greeks really missed the opportunity to upgrade their cultural level, as indeed, Deep Purple remains a milestone in musical and propably mental and intellectual background. Thank you DP - I've seen you in Switzerland, Germany and Greece. You are not missing a single touch of fine powerful music. Keep on gentlemen, we were, are and will forever be with you. But - well, just a few remarks: please avoid playing only the DP songs from Machine Head, Fireball, In Rock and Who Do We Think We Are. You are representing several DP generations, and this includes all of the written songs. See you soon.
