Dutch Purple I was in Cologne last night with my wife to see Deep Purple and man, what a party it was again. All the 600 kilometers to and from the concert were worth it. Most of the time the group was full of enthusiasm, they cracked jokes and played the old stuff in a way the international (of course) crowd enjoyed very much. My wife stood in the seventh row and said that often the crowd had such a good time and sang so loud that they even outsang Gillan! The setlist was the same as yesterday, accept that the band fooled Ian Gillan by switching Mary Long and Ted in following order. Ian annouced Ted and the group started Mary Long which was a laugh. Steve made very nice contributions to the concert with several real Steve-like solos. Ian Paice and Roger Glover were perfect in their usual way and I liked the wonderful way Don Airey played his role in the team. Yes, they are a team again. The weather was OK, the venue was full - someone said 7-8000 thousand people, and the show gave us extra warmth and we managed to take some wonderful photos, which you can see on our website. Greetings from a very satisfied fan who is loking forward to his London concerts.
