No one else above or next to This was the first time I saw DP live. Even now, some days after the concert, I can't believe that my dream finally came true. Before the concert I was very frustrated because of Jon's departure, but it seems the band hasn't died and they looked very happy during the show. Don Airey played an impressive solo with genuine Purple spirit. The solo included Bach, Mozart, Kalinka (a Russian folk song) and the anthem of Petersburg. Steve Morse played a superb new introduction to Smoke On The Water. During Speed King every member of the band played his own solo and Gillan sang an old rock'n'roll song. Everybody was perfect. I've never heard such a long solo from Roger and it was amazing - as unbelievable as Pacey's solo. Ian Gillan sang Child In Time and I'm sure his voice is still one of the best voices in rock music. There isn't any other band on the same level as DP, so I wish they would continue playing their great music and release a new album successfully. Good luck to Deep Purple and to Jon Lord.
