Back to... Ireland & UK 2002 reviews |
Purple generations The first time I saw DP was on February 19, 1973 at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester. The last time was The Manchester Apollo on February 14, 2002. I never thought for a moment I would still be able to see the best band 29 years later (and quite a few times inbetween). I will not not wax lyrically about the concert, you only have to read other reviews to know what I would write, except to say I took a party of five of us ranging from 16 to 46 (me) - and to see the same look on the face of our party's yougest member as I must have had back in 1973 was fantastic. Nearly 30 years on, still packing the hall, still sounding fresh, still bouncing all over the stage and still turning out rock that can get the building and fans shaking... Bloody marvellous. Long may they reign. I hope the band and the crew see these tour reviews. If they do, I would like to send a thank you from myself and the 'youngsters' I took, for a brilliant night out. Keep on rocking.
